Signed and numbered limited-edition lithograph by Jean-Louis Toutain (French, 1948-2008), 13/195. Two stylized carnival figures -- a checkered harlequin and a white-costumed musician -- against a dusk beach sky. Signed lower right, edition number visible on the canvas edge (see photos). Jean-Louis Toutain (French, 1948-2008), born in Toulouse. He trained at the Beaux-Arts de Toulouse from age 14 and apprenticed in ceramics, then worked across theater, advertising, architecture, and industrial design before dedicating himself fully to painting and sculpture at 39. His work centers on a recurring, rounded human figure rendered in a whimsical, contemporary style, influenced by Fernando Botero, Niki de Saint Phalle, and Henry Moore. He received the Medaille Ouvriers de France in 1991.
